Ritesh is a well-known Indian entrepreneur who is famous as the Founder and CEO of OYO Rooms. He started a budget housing portal, Oravel Stays, for booking budget hotels. In September 2012, it was taken into the accelerator program by Venture Nursery. Later, Agarwal became the winner of the 2013 Thiel Fellowship program and received a grant of $100,000.
In May 2013, when he was only 19 years old, the company was launched as OYO Rooms. By September 2018, OYO Rooms raised $1 billion. In July 2019, it was reported that Ritesh bought $2 billion in shares in the company. Presently, it has over 43,000 properties and 1 million rooms across 800 cities in 80 countries, including India, Malaysia, UAE, Nepal, China, Brazil, Mexico, the UK, the Philippines, and many others.
