Seth Dillon, the CEO of The Babylon Bee, fired conservative activist and journalist Gavin Wax through Twitter on May 26, 2023.
The event drew international attention and generated controversy among Donald Trump supporters owing to Wax’s use of profanity in a tweet directed towards Christina Pushaw.
The fast response director for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican primary challenger against Trump.
Wax and his followers accused Seth Dillon, the CEO of the conservative satirical website, of firing him. Because he supported Trump and his tweet against DeSantis. Dillon, on the other hand, disputed these allegations.
Wax responded to his firing by tweeting that he believes he was publicly dismissed as a punishment for supporting Trump and defending himself.
Although he refused to give in to left-wing and right-wing cancel culture, addressing Christina Pushaw, Jenna Ellis, and David Reaboi particularly in his tweet.
In response to a tweet from a supporter of Gavin Wax saying that The Babylon Bee dismissed him for not supporting DeSantis, CEO Seth Dillon emphatically rejected the remark.
Dillon took to Twitter to clarify that he is unaware of most of his staff’ political opinions and that it does not matter to him. However, he voiced concern about how they publically represent the organization, notably in their social media biographies.
