Gangubai Kathiyawadi continued on to a high school and a government school. She fell in love with Ramnik Lal during her senior year of high school. Ramnik was the accountant for her father. The two also went their separate ways and got married.
But Ramnik Lal had other ideas. For about 500 Indian rupees, Ramnik sold Gangubai to a Mumbai prostitute. Similar to how Mumbai’s red light changed her life, it also made her a strong woman.
