Fred Blankenship was born in Los Angeles, California, on September 12th, 1974. He had lived in Los Angeles since he was a child. Blankenship is a member of the black race/ethnicity and a citizen of the United States.

Fred afterwards went on to the University of San Francisco, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Despite the fact that little is known about his past at this time.

Fred Blankenship started his career as a journalist at KRON in San Francisco. While at KRON, he made significant contributions and was also a member of the team that produced ‘On Race,’ a documentary about the study of cultural and social habits of many ethnic groups, for which he received an Edward R. Murrow Award.

Fred then went to work for KAKE TV in Wichita, Kansas. He used to chase storms on a daily basis while working for KAKE TV, and he became an expert at covering extreme weather.

He later spent six years as a reporter and weekend anchor at KGTV in San Diego. Fred earned accolades for stories on drug prevention and community involvement while working at KGTV.

Finally, in 2007, Fred joined the WSB-TV family. He presently hosts Channel 2 Action News at Noon and Channel 2 Action News from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.
