Kellyn Acosta began his professional soccer career with FC Dallas in 2013 after coming up through the club’s youth academy.
During his time with FC Dallas, Acosta was a key player for the team, making over 117 appearances. The athlete was also named to the MLS Best XI in 2017 and was a two-time All-Star selection.
Furthermore, on July 23, 2018, Kellyn was exchanged for Dominique Badji and was traded to Colorado Rapids. After moving to Colorado, Acosta started each of the 12 league games, recording two goals and three assists while playing in Burgundy.
Likewise, the athlete extended his contract by three years on February 20, 2019, keeping him in Colorado through the 2021 season with club options for 2022 and 2023.
Furthermore, Kellyn was bought from the Colorado Rapids by Los Angeles FC on January 14, 2022, for $1.1 million in General Assessment Money. Should Acosta be traded to another team, the Rapids would keep a percentage of the proceeds.
Now playing for the Los Angeles FC, Kellyn is doing extremely well in his professional career and his parents are proud of his achievements.
