Despite the fact that her parents have normal hearing, Ears was born with terrible deafness in both ears. When the girl was nine months old, her parents, Gregory and Beth, initially suspected that their daughter might have given though Emily ignored her name and other noises, they realized something was wrong. But when she was a year old, they discovered that she was, in fact, deaf.
This came about after an audiologist examined her and determined that, while she had some hearing in one ear, she was deaf in the other. Her parents, Gregory and Beth, took her to see another audiologist three months later. Emily’s hearing in both ears was judged to be minimal or nonexistent when this audiologist gave her another test.
