In 1998, Folsom started working for KRON4 as their morning news anchor. She formerly worked in the same capacity for the Washington, DC-based TV network WTTG-TV. She has also worked as a reporter in a number of American places, including Phoenix, Kansas, Portland, Maine, Boise, Idaho, etc.
Folsom became embroiled in a debate over sports, notably American Football, in December 2017. She talked about the potential of rapper Sean Diddy Combs purchasing the Carolina Panthers in a news piece that aired on KRON4. She enquired about Henry Wofford, a sports reporter,’s opinions during the meeting.
In response to Folsom’s query, the sports reporter made light of Combs’ lack of interest in purchasing the Panthers. Many fans of Panther, Folsom, and the show were disturbed by the reporters’ dialogue after the clip aired on KRON4. She then issued a formal apology to everyone she had upset with her remarks.
“Many were offended at a segment I aired that discussed Sean Diddy Combs possibly buying the Panthers. I was asking our sports reporter about his thoughts, and he made a disparaging joke about Combs. I am sorry for entertaining his comments and sorry for my response and how I handled the conversation.”
Sylvia Malnikow, Folsom’s mother, passed away in January 2020, leaving Folsom without a family member. Unfortunately, there is no reliable information on her mother’s passing on the internet. However, reports on KRON4 claimed that Sylvia Malnikow was a liberal who frequently spoke out in support of early American women.
