He is currently serving as a Meteorologist and Reporter at NBC Connecticut WVIT-TV since October 2008. Darren along with the weather team reported on Superstorm Sandy, a number of tornado touchdowns, and Hurricane Irene. He also covers the weather-breaking news during the week in the field and at the studio. Moreover, he is an Associate Professor at Central Connecticut State University.

Darren received his seal of approval from the National Weather Association (NWA) as well as from the American Meteorological Society (AMS). Before NBC, he worked as a Meteorologist at WFSB for a period of more than two years. During his tenure, he reported the massive flooding that took place along the Merrimack River in May 2006. Upon his contract termination, he moved to WWLP where he worked as a full-time reporter and meteorologist for a period of more than two years.

Also, he has won two Associated Press awards for coverage of historic flooding in October 2005 and Best Weathercast in 2006. In addition, he is also a board member of the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists and an active volunteer who aids to create awareness and fundraising events for the different types of cancer search.
