This is because Polo has received threats to his life from members of the criminal groups he is investigating. There have been several attempts to reveal Polo’s identity, but none have been successful. A change.org petition requesting Polo’s dismissal from his post was started in 2022.
In the petition, Polo was accused of fabricating evidence and abusing his power. Polo continues to work as a detective with the Broward Sheriff’s Office despite the petition’s failure.
