In 2019, a felon takes a plea deal for the murder of his “best friend” in return for $9 million from a fictional millionaire. The killer was catfished. In Alaska, a woman confessed to killing a little kid who thought her killer was her “best friend” after being seduced with millions of dollars by a man acting as wealthy.
Denali Brehmer, 22, was 18 when the offer was made. In exchange for $9 million, a guy calling himself “Tyler” and claiming to be from Kansas would kidnap and murder 18-year-old Cynthia “CeeCee” Hoffman and give the anonymous contributor photographic evidence of the horrible event.
Brehmer admits to tricking the girl into going through Thunderbird Falls by offering her money when they made their way to the Matanuska-Susitna Borough in Chugiak, Alaska, north of Anchorage. The defendant and a buddy held the girl down there with duct tape before shooting her in the head, all the while recording the killing for the person who had asked.
