He is co-anchor of NBC4 News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m newscasts. Henry joined the station in 1994 after working for 19 years at KABC-TV, where he served as reporter, anchor, director, and producer. Henry is known for his versatility and has been lauded for both his hard news reports and for his lighter stories. In October 2017, he was in Las Vegas covering the worst mass shooting in modern history. Henry became the only television reporter allowed to visit and report from “the most bombed place on Earth,” the Nevada Test Site.
His report on security weaknesses on the backside of the Los Angeles Airport led the City Council to hire expert security consultants from Israel to assess and fix the problems. Henry was the only reporter ever to be allowed into the secret Good Shepard Shelter and granted interviews with residents and managing staff.
Henry commenced his career in broadcasting in 1966 at KHVH-TV in Honolulu, where he served as a reporter and anchor. He also worked at NBC affiliate KENI-TV in Anchorage, Alaska, and NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV in Chicago. During his time there, Henry produced and hosted an on-air show titled, Your Army Neighbor.
