On February 15, 2011, the Senators dealt Chis Kelly to the Boston Bruins. He did, in fact, get off to a great start with the squad, helping them win the Stanley Cup. He scored the game-winning goal in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series, which was yet another high point in his career. Within two seasons, there were speculations that he would join the Senators again, but they were just that—rumors.

Chris re-signed his contract with the organization in 2012 with the expectation of getting a $12 million, four-year extension. The NHL, however, objected to the agreement, claiming that it had “payroll tagging concerns.”

Chris also had his first opportunity to take a penalty shot in his NHL career in 2013. Well, he scored the goal against goaltender Anders Lindbäck, making the most of the opportunity that was presented to him. Chris started a campaign that saw him score two goals in eleven games with the Bruins after collecting his first penalty point with the team.
