Powell, who grew up in a wakeboarding family, acquired an interest in the sport and began skateboarding at the age of four. Airwalk Shoes and Powell Skateboards have both sponsored him. He started attending to McCormick’s Cable Park when he was 12 years old.
He gained more sponsorship by filming more films of his performances, and by the age of 15, he was competing in wakeboarding contests and had turned professional.
Since 2012, Powell has been involved in the wakeboarding community. He has competed on various international venues, including National Championships, North American Championships, and World Championships, as part of the World Series circuit.
Liquid Force, Fuse, and LKL are his sponsors. He earned the “Triple Crown” championship in 2014 and even placed third in the Wake Park World Series.
Chandler Powell left his job in 2016, and two years later, in 2018, he moved permanently to Australia to live with his girlfriend and her family. He is currently a member of the Wildlife Warriors program, which was started in 2002 by his girlfriend’s parents, Bindi Irwin.
He also works at the Australia Zoo in Queensland with the Irwin family and stars in the upcoming Animal Planet series Crikey! The Irwins are there, as well as the Irwin family.
