In 2003, Carlos Carrasco started working in America. He was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the free-agent draft. It’s interesting to note that the sports director of the Philadelphia Phillies located him and eventually sent him to America. He played the whole season with the Single-A Lakewood BlueClaws later that year.
After that, in 2006, 2007, and 2008, Carlos was added to the world roster for the All-Star Future Games. In 2009, Carrasco, the best prospect for the Phillies, was traded to the Cleveland Indians. September 2009 was his debut month. He produced a great deal of work and played a lot of games between 2009 and 2011.
But in 2011, he was punished with a six-game suspension for tossing a pitch at the head of Kansas City Royals designated hitter Billy Butler. In the same year, he underwent Tommy John surgery, which caused a break in his 2012 season. A year later, Carrasco returned to the field, but his play had declined dramatically.
In 2015, the athlete received a $22 million contract for four years. He won multiple honors during his time with the Indians, including AL Comeback Player of the Year, AL Win Leader, and the Roberto Clemente Award. He stayed with the team until 2020. In addition, he signed with the New York Mets in 2021, even though a hamstring injury kept him out of the first season. In his 100th game, he triumphed over the Miami Marlins on July 30, 2022.
