Bukayo Saka was able to play for Watford’s youth squads previously. He attended Arsenal’s Hale End academy when he was seven years old. Arsenal offered him a professional deal once he turned 17 and promoted him to the under-23 team. In 2018, he made his senior competitive debut for Arsenal against Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League. Then, in December 2018, against Qaraba in the Europa League, Bukayo made his first complete home appearance for Arsenal.
Similarly, on January 1, 2019, he was eligible to make his Premier League debut. He made history by becoming the first player born in the twenty-first century to appear in a Premier League game. Bukayo was also rewarded for his efforts in Germany with his first Premier League start, a 3–2 home triumph over Aston Villa. He began to establish himself as a first-team regular at left-back for Arsenal following the injuries to Sead Kolainac and Kierney Tierney.
Bukayo Saka was able to sign a new long-term contract with Arsenal on July 1, 2020. He also scored his first Premier League goal for the club in a 2–0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, a half-volley that beat goalkeeper Rui Patrcio. He started and had an assist in the 2020 FA Community Shield, which Arsenal won 5–4 in a penalty shootout over Liverpool after the match ended 1–1 after 90 minutes. Saka was also named Arsenal’s Player of the Month twice, in December and January.
