He currently works at NBC4 as a co-anchor for the station’s 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. newscasts. Michael joined NBC4 News in 2011. He also reports on Life Connected Stories, NBC4’s devotion to storytelling about diversity, and society coming together so as to pay it forward. Additionally, Michael co-hosts NBC4’s Black History Month Special, which is a-30 minute program to stories of excellence and motivation in the Black community.
He started his career in radio promotions and later moved to television in 1995 where he worked at the NBC Affiliate in Yuma, Arizona, as a general assignment reporter. After a while, Michael was promoted by the station to an anchor position. He later became the reporter for Real TV, a syndicated video magazine show. Before joining NBC4, Michael worked at My13News, serving as the weekend anchor and general assignment reporter.
Previously, he worked at KCOP/KTTV duopoly in Los Angeles, as a fill-in anchor and general assignment reporter. In addition, he also worked for CBS2 in Los Angeles as a general assignment reporter for three years. Michael was recognized with a Golden Mike Award for his Best Sports Reporting and was also among the news team that was honored with a Los Angeles-area Emmy for the Best Daytime Newscasts. In addition, he is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
