Rashan Gary’s commendable work ethic is deeply rooted in his family values, instilled by his mother, Jennifer, and his elder sister, Nafeesa, with whom he has 10 10-year age gap.
Gary lived with his father during his early years at Scotch Plains High School, having grown up in a single-parent home following his parents’ divorce.
Later, upon transferring to Plainfield, he moved in with his mother. The young footballer credits his mother and sister for his upbringing, acknowledging their hard work and sacrifices.
He recalled, “My mother and elder sister, they both raised me.” He said he grew up seeing them work multiple jobs to feed him.
The rising NFL star’s primary motivation has always been to provide for his family.
