The disappearance of 24-year-old Brandon Gomes remains a source of concern and ongoing investigation in 2023.
Brandon, a Summit, New Jersey resident, went missing on October 1, 2023, under circumstances that have left his family and authorities deeply worried.
He left his home in Summit, New Jersey, driving his mother’s 2006 grey Honda Civic and, more distressingly, sent a message to a friend indicating his intention to end his life in nature.
The case has since evolved, spanning across state lines, as Brandon’s last known location was tracked to Sandoval County in New Mexico.
The Albuquerque Police Department and a New Mexico sheriff’s department are now actively assisting the Summit Police Department in the investigation, reflecting the severity of the situation.
Albuquerque Police have expressed concerns about Brandon’s safety, suggesting he may be in danger of harming himself.
The last known sighting of Brandon was at a Holiday Inn on 12th Street NW in Albuquerque. He checked out of the hotel on October 6, leaving behind the vehicle he had driven from New Jersey.
Authorities are working diligently to obtain surveillance footage from the hotel to piece together the events surrounding his departure.
As of October 6, Brandon’s phone was traced to San Ysidro, located around 43 miles north of the Holiday Inn in Albuquerque, further deepening the mystery surrounding his whereabouts.
Gomes’ family is doing everything possible to aid the search for their missing loved one.
Their efforts include distributing flyers, employing private investigators, and even deploying helicopter surveillance. They are determined to find answers and, above all, ensure Brandon’s safety and well-being.
