Brandi Carlile was born in Ravensdale, Washington, on 1 June 1981. Her hometown is miles away from Seattle. Growing up, she played music with her siblings – Jay and Tiffany.
Brandi Carlile learned to sing when she was young. By 8, she began singing country songs on stage.
Carlile began composing songs and music at age 15 after performing Johnny Cash’s “Tennessee Flat Top Box” with her mom, Teresa Carlile.
The talented singer attended Tahoma High School before dropping out to pursue her singing career. Brandi trained herself to play the piano after hearing Elton John’s songs; then, at 17, she learned to play the guitar.
Carlile disclosed that she was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder as a teen. Brandi almost died after contracting bacterial meningitis when she was four years old.
