Damian Banton, a Jamaican, and Suzanne English, a Canadian, were the parents of Dalano Banton (born November 7, 1999), who was raised in Toronto.
He has a deep appreciation for his heritage thanks to his parents.
Banton frequently brings up his siblings in interviews, but little else is known about them.
As a child, Banton spent most of his time at his grandmother’s home in the busy community of Rexdale, where he developed a taste for her delectable jerk chicken and oxtail dishes.
In addition to teaching him respect both inside and outside of her home, his grandmother gave him the stability he sorely needed in his life.
