Ann Carlson is professionally a dancer and has performed in Territory Dance Theater in Tucson, Arizona, US. Aside from that, she has worked with some of the famous personality including Susan Rethorst and Meredith Monk as well. However, in the 1990s, she left dancing and currently she is the President of the Khan Foundation.
Philanthropy
Ann and her husband, Shahid Khan are very active with charity programs and fundraisers. They started with Jacksonville Jaguars’ Foundation for the betterment of the community and now there are many more.
The Duo mostly provides children and family programs, fitness programs, military and veterans programs, women’s health issues, neighborhood revitalization. In addition to that, they also give away over 11k game tickets for every season. In the year 2016 only they donated $1 million USD for the establishment of the Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, Florida, US. Moreover, For Breast cancer treatment, they raised $2.25 million USD.
To name some more they have supported the Jacksonville Veterans Resource and Reintegration Center, North Florida Boy Scouts, Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville, City Year of Jacksonville, Edward Waters College, YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge of Jacksonville, the Yeardley Lone/One Love Foundation, and the Jacksonville Humane Society.
The duo also focuses on education as they have donated to the University of Illinois’ Krannert Center of the Performing Arts, the College of Applied Health Sciences, the College of Business, and the library. Also, they have contributed to the funding of Five Khan Professorships as well as the Khan Annex.
