When Sammi originally shared on social media in 2017 that she wouldn't be on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, she cited "toxic situations" and being in a "completely different place in life."

The toxic situations might have been in reference to ex-boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, who took his own leave of absence from the show. However the season finale also brought with it his return.

Much of the details about Sammi's future on Family Vacation are still a little unclear. However, it's safe to assume that she's here on a trial basis. If Sammi gets back into the swing of things, she enjoys filming, and the drama she faces is easy to digest, then we can see a permanent return.

But for now, let's just appreciate the "return of an icon" on Jersey Shore.
