Famous LGBTQ poet and performer Andrea Gibson writes stunning spoken word poetry. Gibson, born August 13, 1975, in Calais, Maine, is a prominent poet and LGBTQ+ activist. Their poetry explores gender, sexuality, mental health, activism, and other social and political topics. They have long supported LGBTQ+ rights and worked with several activist groups.
Their poetry and music-spoken-word CDs include “Yellowbird,” “Flower Boy,” and “Hey Galaxy.” Gibson has won many honors for her poetry, including the 2008 Women of the World Poetry Slam.
