A well-known former radio announcer from India When he presented his Binaca Geetmala program of hits on Radio Ceylon, he gained fame and popularity throughout the Indian Subcontinent. Even today, he is one of the most imitated announcers. His style of addressing the crowd with “Behno aur Bhaiyo” (meaning “sisters and brothers”) rather than the traditional “Bhaiyo aur Bahno” is still regarded as a melodious announcement. Since 1951, he has produced, compiled (or spoken for) over 54,000 radio programs and 19,000 commercials/jingles.
