In 1995, Shawn Kemp married Marvena L. Thomas in a private ceremony. Together, he and Marvena have three children. His firstborn son, Shawn Kemp Jr., plays senior basketball for the University of Washington.
Additionally, he has seven offspring from five marriages. The identities of his other spouses, on the other hand, remain unknown. In addition, many have labeled the former NBA player a womanizer because of his disastrously hasty marriages.
His wife Marvena forgave him even though he had married other women and stood by him during his challenging times. Shawn avoids discussing women besides his first wife, Marvena, in public.
Throughout his career, Shawn has been embroiled in several issues. In high school, he was accused of removing a gold chain from a teammate who was allegedly the son of his coach.
The most significant controversy, however, arose in 2006, when he was arrested for cocaine use and transporting a firearm. In the same year, he was arrested on a misdemeanor marijuana possession allegation.
When it was discovered that he was not paying child support for his seven children with six different women, his reputation suffered further damage. In addition, as a result of his actions, many people retaliated against him, and he received hateful comments on his social media accounts.
