Ariel Helwani entered this world in Montreal, Quebec on July 8th, 1982. In Mount Royal, Quebec, where Helwani grew up, he was raised by a Jewish family. His mother is from Lebanon and his father is from Egypt.
Helwani went to school at Akiva. He graduated from Herzliah High School. He attended the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University and graduated in 2004.
