Maria has a passion for singing and follows her parents’ footsteps in that regard. She can be seen performing live in front of an audience in a YouTube video with her father, pianist Israel Houghton. To Make You Feel My Love by Adele was the tune they were playing.
Meleasa Houghton, her mother, also went to the performance to show her support for the daughter. When Mariah was six years old, she sang in the Lakewood church. She is currently employed with Adrienne’s company XiXI as Creative Director.
