Soon after Kitsch’s article about the things he doesn’t look for in a partner was released, there were whispers regarding Kitsch and his True Detective co-star Rachel McAdams’ off-screen romance.
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly about their fledgling romance, they grew close on the sets and their affair hasn’t lasted long. According to the insider, they are serious about their romance. They were also seen having supper at West Hollywood hotspot Osteria Mozza in June of the same year.
The reported pair told ET Canada at the end of July 2015 that there is nothing to clarify. Kitsch, who played the gay role in The Normal Heart, addressed the never-ending myth with McAdams, saying-
“There is no record. There is nothing to set straight, she’s an amazing actress and a great gal.”
Similarly, McAdams, Kitsch’s reported partner, stated that dealing with her dating rumors is “strange.” She stated, ”
“I guess you just have to laugh at it at a certain point. I’m like, ‘Who are these people? How did they confirm that? I find it really confusing, but yeah, it’s an odd little thing.”
She went on to say that just because a man and a woman are seen or photographed together doesn’t guarantee they’re dating.
Almost a year later, Life & Style magazine announced exclusively that Kitsch and McAdams are dating and planning to take their relationship to the next level. The couple lived together, brunched together, and went to the gym together, according to the magazine.
The claims were debunked when it was found that the couple had never been together, and Rachel McAdams has been dating Jamie Linden since 2016, with whom she shares two children.
